Kia Stinger: Air Conditioning System / Evaporator Temperature Sensor
Description and operation
The evaporator temperature sensor detects the evaporator core temperature and
interrupts compressor relay power in order to prevent evaporator from freezing by
excessive cooling.
Repair procedures
1. |
Turn the ignition switch OFF.

2. |
Disconnect the evaporator temperature sensor connector.
|
3. |
Measure resistance between terminals “+” and “-” of the evaporator temperature
sensor.

Connect the evaporator temperature sensor connector.

Run the engine, turn the A/C switch ON, and then measure the voltage
between the terminals of the harness connector.

Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
|
2. |
Remove the evaporator core assembly.
(Refer to Air Conditioning System - "Evaporator Core")

3. |
Remove the evaporator temperature sensor (A) from evaporator sensor.
|
4. |
Install in the reverse order of removal.
